Captain Damon McKnight was raised on the water and learned what it takes to catch fish at a very young age. He has been a full time charter boat captain for the past
14 years. In June of 2009, Capt.Damon was appointed to serve on the Gulf of Mexico fishery management Council and has become very active in fishery management decisions. He has been featured in SportFishing Magazine, Saltwater Sportsman Magazine, Marlin Magazine, Marsh and Bayou, ESPN TV, Louisiana Sportsman, and local TV shows and Newspapers. Followed by his love of the water and his fishing experience, one of the most important things he attributes to his success is that he gets to fish in Venice, Louisiana. The Best Fishing in the World.
You will be fishing from either a 33' Freeman Cat or 32'center-console Twin-Vee Catamaran boats. Catamaran style boats are by far the best fishing boat for our area. They are fast with cruise speeds up to 45 mph, which make some of the longer runs no problem at all, and they comfortably ride through just about any type of sea under 4ft. that the Gulf has to offer. With a 10.10ft. beam on the Freeman and a 12ft. beam on the Twin Vees they are a completely stable fishing platform and can easily fish up to 6 anglers and still have a lot of room to move around. Powered by twin 350 H.P. engines on the Freeman, and either 300 H.P. or 250 H.P. Yamaha four stroke engines on the Twin Vees and a patented catamaran hull from both builds, all of the offshore hotspots are easily accessible, such as the world famous Midnight Lump (an underwater saltdome and magnet for Yellowfin Tuna and Wahoo) and the oceanic depths of the Mississippi Canyon (home to world class Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, and Mahi-Mahi).
