The chill of winter is giving way to the warmth of spring, and the fishing in Venice, Louisiana, is transitioning into one of the most exciting periods of the year. This crossover month offers the best of both worlds: the tail end of our legendary winter trophy season and the beginning of the aggressive spring feeding frenzy. Inshore Species in the Venice Marshes During March
As the shallow marsh waters begin to warm consistently, Redfish remain aggressive. They will continue to stage in the back ponds and dead-end canals, but will start to move more broadly, feeding hard before their spring patterns set in.
