October 2025 - Offshore Fishing for Yellowfin Tuna.
Fall Tuna Fishing October 2025!
The offshore fishing so far this year has been excellent. Most days the Yellowfin Tuna are cooperating and the weather has been as good as it gets. The primary method of fishing right now is live baiting and slow drifting over the schools of Tuna. Most days it has been steady with one fish after another. As we move further into October and into early November we will start catching the jumbos 150+lbs. most days.
The wahoo fishing as well has really picked up over the past few weeks. We had our first decent cold front in early October and that is usually an indicator that they are well on their way here. They migrate from the Caribbean and Atlantic Ocean this time of year to spawn in our area. The food sources are unlimited with their main diet being Bonita, Blackfin Tuna, Mullets, Menhaden, Hard tails, and Squid.
The Sword-Fishing has been steady as well. Most days our customers are opting to fish for Tuna and Wahoo, however, if you want to go to battle with a fish then you will want to try for a sword. The bite usually happens fairly quick once you drop down, so most days patience is not needed.
A quick recap of what to expect for the rest of this month fishing out of Venice, La. Main target will be Yellowfin Tuna, and they are plentiful right now. 2nd target will be Wahoo and they will really show up in big numbers over the next couple of weeks. Snapper Season is still open as of now, so if Red Snapper and Grouper are on your bucket list then as of now we can still fish for them.
More to come in our next report. We put up daily photos and information on our social media pages. Facebook Super Strike Charters Page
